Agave's Throne

While hiking in Lonomea Canyon, deep within Kauai the landscape seems more out of the desert SW than Hawaii. With the river as our main attraction I wanted to break away from my 'standard' shots and looked up and saw these Agave perched above the river. Of course what could be better than the fact tha...t they were backlit giving them a crazy glow. The dark hillside behind lets them really pop. You can see the river bottom left as it falls further down the canyon.
