Standing on the valley floor of Yosemite Valley there is this sense of scale like no other. 3000ft+ vertical walls of rock go straight up around you. Of course capturing this expanse is not easy. After shooting an incredible sunrise along the river I was walking back to the car and noticed this bare tree out in the field. Hard right turn and off I went to explore. Aligning the tree to match the side of the rock wall I waited until the perfect dappled early morning light lit up the face. Black and white of course being prevalent in my mind...it is Yosemite after all
