I probably should post the series of photos in order but alas. This was the 2nd keeper of the afternoon. As the sun dropped at my other spot I literally grabbed my pack and tripod and ran down the rocks to the end where I saw the first thing that looked good and plopped my gear and and composed as quickly as I could. My friends watching from behind probably got a pretty funny show. This spot is only accessible during small surf as it can be very dangerous.
All in all the success of the shot is something that I teach my clients all the time. Composition is something that can be learned and therefore once we have the 'formula' down it becomes much easier to literally run up to a spot and photograph in less than 5 min. Of course having places like this in your backyard help But for those photogs out there...learn WHY photographs work, then learn to see that when shooting.
Oh yea, the title comes from the ice-looking environment caused by the salt on the rocks
16-36 II, 3stop RevGrad, blend for rocks top left and sun area.
I can imagine you with your tripod running to get the shoot heheh, you're so cutee! Thank you so much for the advices, they motivate me to not give up , even with my homemade camera lol oh I thought the salt was ice D:, it looks reaally beautiful great title
that is one wicked foreground, great bold shapes and lines... lovely texture/movement on the water too. foreground white balance feels a little on the cool side - creative processing decision to complement the 'ice-looking environment'?
