EDIT: Finalized the photo!

EDITx2: I thought I finalize the photo...thanks to Hougaard [link] for suggesting a blue channel blend which enabled me to blend the halo out w/ an easy mask! Woohoo.

YES...the sunrise was this nuts.

Same sunrise as "Eyes of Wainiha"

2 exposure blend.

Crazy sky man. I get some wicked sunsets by my place due to the pollution but there is no scenery to complete it. Mine just go to waste.

Maybe you should rethink the scenery and do a study on the 'waste'. ;) Lemons into lemonade! :)

True. Just a dangerous neighborhood for taking anything of value out in. I would love to get more of the black and white, long exposure architecture thing going but yet again i have to travel for a safe place for it.

Your decision to give the colours a hallucinogenic force was right, I think.

Too often photographers seem to apply an arbitrary standard of acceptability, rather than considering the merits of the image on its own terms.

I thin this is a great composition.

I appreciate that but the colors were their own hallucinogenic force. All I did was take the photograph (and edit properly) :P The scene was surreal to say the least. I will however agree with that photography is an art and therefore photographers can take artistic liberty when editing to produce anything they want...as long as it's indicated that there are liberties taken :) Whew :P

When photographers alert us to the strangeness and mystery by which we are surrounded, that must surely be called art.

Mearly calling ones attention to the reality they are surrounded by is not art. But taking that reality and inter.......

....wow. That was funny. I was going disagree but you're right. Bizarre. Though at least in a visual sense. If I were to tell you verbally it would be be called art. But shit. That was blood genius man :) Kudos

It feels unbalanced to me, feels like you were holding the camera on an angle to the right. My head tilts that way for some reason, maybe it's just that epic sky which is making it all whack. Stunning shot though, very nice.

Level as it comes. Just wavy horizon w/ the trees and bending of clouds. Sounds like you've been spending too much time in the woods ;)
