(sister image to The Rapture)
From back in May '11 during a great sunset session at Secrets Beach. The late season swell combined with the sand that had been returning to the beach made for plenty of interesting effects. I loved the way the water was peeling around the corner and wanted to bring out the streaking effect. Subtle but good sunset
Techy stuff: 1 exposure with 3stop RGND + 1 for sky (darker w/ rgnd)...this helps me control the range of light. Fg was shot at around 1/2s (sweet spot for water usually).
Composition wise I generally tend to not leave so much open space in photographs, however here I feel that the moving water acts as enough interest to balance out the rocks on the right side and the curving lines of the water bring the eye through the image toward the sunset.
Much thanks for the thoughts all!
