Project I by aFeinPhoto-com Project I by aFeinPhoto-com
Project season begins! I am after a shot that has eluded me now for 2 years. Hopefully not 3. First wave session of the winter out shooting my favorite spot. Only good fan of the eve but was still fun to watch. Unfortunately the way I'm shooting means flare is a huge issue...which in this case I think kills the shot...oh well..next time!

Tricky little bugger!

Thanks for looking.

just one big flare. most sites that i've posted on say that they dont mind. some do. i think printing at 40x60 will make it too obvious but a few people know how to get rid of it. might try soon.

there are some halos around, its either because its an exposure blend or because you did some sort of edge enhancement (clarity or USM with a large radius). I dont know, it bothers me, but most people wouldnt notice it. You can get rid of the flare with curves fairly easily, I just tried. You only really need to modify the red channel

Think you're seeing the web sharpening but I had to stare at it on my 27" to see what you were...I've had a couple people suggest ways of getting rid of the flare and will try that red channel trick. :) wooo

I mean holos of a wide radius, not 1px sharpening or whatever. Halos that are 20px big...Its a subtle effect but its there

Ah! A glass sea shell!

I don't think the flare kills the shot. Maybe it wasn't what you were going for but I like how the flare helps your eye move through the image. My eye goes to the brightest spot (the right side) then travels the crest of the wave and ends in the red shadow on the left. :)
