Kalalau Overlook by aFeinPhoto-com Kalalau Overlook by aFeinPhoto-com
Digging this one out of the archives...taken almost exactly 2 years ago I have a print of it in my room but havent 'released' it yet. So went back and completely reworked it. This was before I realized what I should be doing so was actually shot in JPG not RAW! Yikes. RAW allows soo much more leway with editing.... Luckily it was exposed close enough.

This lookout is one of the most epic places in Hawaii...though conditions can be varied to say the least (see "Patience's Reward"). During the summer season the sun sets far north and this golden light comes streaming in the valley. Lovely indeed!

Such a vast landscape, you could quite easily get lost down in that canyon?

I have to agree with everyone here, this picture is stunning. Curious though... what could have RAW done differently to enhance this any more?

With RAW I could have recovered the blown highlights fully but it actually works well in this case being bright. Also more data in general. jpg is compressed, raw is open. Not too much noise in the shadows but would have been cleaner w/ raw. :)
