"Jupiter Rising"

And now...the Florida sunrise story!

My cousin decided to join me on a sunrise shoot and I got to drive my grandfather's 1982 Toyota Supra up the coast for a planned sunrise shoot at Blowing Rocks Preserve outside Jupiter, FL. While approaching our destination the car was running low on gas....no big deal, then all the lights went on...weird. Pulled in to a gas station at 6am. Not open yet...rats. Guy was nice enough to let us fill up before opening and then...car wouldnt start. Crap! We were only 1.5 miles or so from our destination. The call was to push the car in to the parking spot in the back of the building then hussle down to the beaches closest point to us ~1mi.

Got to the condos and looked at the beach...blech...nothing...BUT...down the way was an area of promise. Off we went, running down the beach as sunrise approached. Got my bag down about 8 min before sunrise and proceeded to do the best I could with the area. Very fun rocks to play with and the splashes were very cool. More from those later.

While this doesnt have the 'wow' factor I was hoping for there is a calmness I do really like here. The foreground rock and background give good tension to balance the centered sun. 3stop reverse GND used to hold back the sky.

After packing up...back to the gas station...eventually getting a jump only to have the car stall/die as we were about to pull out of the lot. 1.5hrs later we were in a tow truck headed back down to Boynton. Was a great time well spent with Sephirah though! :)

THANKS!

You have captured the huge latent power of even the most docile sea. A wonderful shot!

Excellent, excellent shot. It's funny how this type of shot always works well with a 1/4 shutterspeed.

What I wouldn't give to just watch you edit your photos one day. You make everything just pop in ways I can't understand. And all while preserving a very natural look.

I'm selling in a gallery these days. Your work inspires me to a degree I can't quite put into words. I just want to keep getting better.

I'm featuring this....if that wasn't already clear. Lol.

Keep kickin' ass dude. :D

This one was mostly in camera thanks to the new singh-ray filters. But that is very flattering and really appreciate it. I should start doing some web classes eh? Right now working on putting together workshops on Kauai.

Thanks as always for the awesome support :)
