"Fire Falls Reprise"

Ah, the beauty of the chase. For those of you who dont remember, I had shot this location about a month ago. [link] is the shot. My original idea is close to this capture. I was thinking sun in the gap. Sunstar coming in...etc. Well, this is closer. I was instructing a photo tour at the time I shot this so couldnt work the scene as much as I hoped but I will only have another week or 2 before it is done for the season. Gotta keep at it!

A very tricky shot to process as I needed 4 exposures to pull it off. 1 for most of the image, 1 with my finger over the sun to help some of the flare, 1 for most of the sky and 1 for just a bit more detail in the sun area....though couldnt get as much back as I wanted.

Much thanks for the c/c!

aF

At first I was thinking, suns too bright. Then the more I look at it, the more I see in the details of the photo. The halo around the sun, the lens flare, the golden colors in the water, the power of the ocean, the clouds, the dark tones of the rocks. For as little time as you had, you came away with an outstanding photo. Can't wait to see you hit the money shot. This one's going in the same folder as the last one my friend.

Thanks for actually taking the time to view it...too many of us get caught up in thumbnails etc. As for my next attempt...will have to wait til next year :)

I am guilty of the thumbnail thing, I promise, but certain photo's require more in depth viewing as this one did. I guess the suns out of alignment for the one you want then?

I want a mix of the two...but I'll take this one too ;)

And there are a great deal of my photos that need to be viewed large...if not 20x60+ in real life. It's coming :)
