Electric Slide

After living on Kauai for 4 years I can honestly say there are few things that compare to Oregon/PacNW green. On a recent family trip to visit a very very cute new niece! the bunch of us went out to see Mt Hood. Driving to and from there are old growth forests that my brother had picked out to go for a walk...well. Yay! While driving I was itching the entire time to get my camera on these greens!

Forests are the hardest thing for me, and a lot of other it seems, photographers to shoot. A forest is chaos and within that chaos we as photographers have to make a coherent composition, draw elements together, make it work. I spent a long time (too long probably according to the family that was waiting on me) in this one area alone trying to figure out how to piece this together. In the end I did a 5 image DOF bracket to make sure everything was sharp front to back (new technique I was trying out) and am happy with the result here.

And honestly, VERY little color work done here...it really is that green! (now if only you could feel how cold it was, haha)
