Beacon Of Light by aFeinPhoto-com Beacon Of Light by aFeinPhoto-com
‎"Beacon Of Light"

Planning shots is always fun. Figuring out when and where the sun/moon will rise/set...then actually getting it right AND having sweet conditions. The moon rose on cue after a ridiculously colorful sunset (pictures to come later), and popped through the clouds briefly before disappearing again. All alone on the rocks...waves crashing around...and me yipping like a school boy. Pretty funny.

These scenes are very tricky to shoot as the light difference between the moon and ambient can be too great. This is borderline as there isnt as much detail in the moon as I would like but think we still got the idea.

Very pretty. So how does one accomplish to capture the details of moon while showing the details of landscape? Is it a fault of the digital camera characteristic or is there some program that will combine the detailed shot of moon with detailed view of landscape?

very small window of time where the ambient light balances out the brightness of the moon. all about timing. and proper processing but no blend was needed here. thanks!

mmmm - interesting how it gives a warm glow to the clouds and almost makes it feel like sun colours! :D I do like how much detail you allowed to stay in the surrounding areas particularly on the rocks, since so often people expose to give the moon detail and leave everything else in silhouette. this is refreshing.
