Artist's Comments

After 4 days of rain...the last of which lead to intense flooding on the island the storm broke and cleared suddenly. I went out to capture the amazing amount of waterfalls (some seen at full rez here)...and the sky went nutso. Just glad I had my camera.

Enjoy.

Bali Hai Explosion by ~aFeinPhoto-com There is just something magical about this shot, maybe it's the glow, maybe it is the romance of the color, maybe it's the fact when I look at this it soothes me, and makes me want to sip a few Mai Tai's! I don't know what it is, but one thing is for sure, this just has it! And what I wouldn't do to be sitting in this shot now! (Featured by ^kkart)

An amazing sunset but ultimately I think it was a mistake to include a foreground. That tree is not creating a particularly good silouette in my opinion and I think I would prefer it were it not there, although it would make the shot more "run of the mill"

Beautiful - I like the composition - I think the tree adds interest to the shot, the focus and detail are good.

I almost always have some sort of fg interest...not including something would be mistake here. This was just about the only thing I had to work with but the angle that it leans helps bring the viewer back into the photo and gives a bit of a tropical feel. Appreciate the time Alex!

No worries - it's always best to do what makes YOU happy. I think when you look at a photo like this, it is best to have some interesting object to have your eye rest on - otherwise, it's just another sunset/sunrise shot, with nothing to make it stand out from the rest. I think that tree is what makes it stand out. :D

The battle of the artist. I please myself to a point but rely on the critiques of others as well to gain a broader perspective. I am mostly self taught so the internet is where I be.

Thanks for your time :-)
