Bit of a backstory. Was on the south shore like usual last Weds and went to explore an area I hadnt been to yet. The winds were NUTS! Easy 30-40mph...but at my back. There also was a bit of a south swell which as it hit certain areas would pop up these huge splashes all along the coast. I found an area that I could see the setting sun w/o getting drenched w/ spray from the coast behind. Extra wide tripod stance and holding everything down. Then wait....
To overcome my lack of filters and cameras poor DR I bracketed this which mean I had to blend in the sky w/o messing up the splash too much. A bit tricky but a good first edit I think. I have the shot right after this in which the splash becomes a big ball of water but a friend and I decided to go w/ this one as it had more mystery to it...and yes...I was dry
